3ie’s New Delhi office is looking for a research assistant to support our Promoting Latrine Use in Rural India Thematic Window. Candidates with graduate-level education in public health, economics, public policy, international development, public administration, psychology or other relevant social sciences will be preferred. The candidate will ideally have an interest in sanitation and the behavioural sciences, as the hallmark of this thematic window is the management of a portfolio of low-cost, behavioural science-based interventions to promote latrine use in rural India. This thematic window is supported by the Bill and Melina Gates Foundation, with intellectual inputs from the research institute for compassionate economics. It represents an innovate foray into understanding what works (as well as what does not) to promote latrine use, rather than just latrine construction, as a means to ending open defecation in India. The Independent Science and Partnership Council (ISPC) of the CGIAR seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Chair of its Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA). The SPIA Chair will lead on providing strategic guidance and oversight to SPIA and its program of work, ensuring key links between SPIA and the international academic community, representing SPIA and the CGIAR impact assessment community in relevant internal and external fora and participating as a member of ISPC, including but not limited to reporting and seeking Council input on SPIA activities. The SPIA Chair is an ex officio member of ISPC, and will be serving for a term of 3 years with the possibility of renewal for one additional term.
