Global Development Network call for applications for the Awards and Medals Competition 2013-14 and KOICA Development Research Award
The Global Development Awards and Medals Competition (AMC) recognises excellence in policy-oriented research, supports research capacity development of researchers in developing countries and funds innovative social development projects benefiting marginalised groups in the developing world. Deadline for applications: 6 March 2014.
The KOICA Development Research Award recognises research that investigates the salient features of Korea’s growth experience (Republic of Korea or South Korea) and provides an interesting analytical benchmark to analyse growth issues and prospects in developing countries. Application deadline 15 April 2014.
Experiments in Governance and Politics network call for expressions of interest on political accountability projects
The Experiments in Governance and Politics network (EGAP) is requesting statements of interest for leading edge experimental research projects on political accountability in developing countries. This grant round is specifically designed to foster knowledge cumulation across studies. Successful applicants will engage in closely related projects and adhere to a common set of research standards. The $1.8 million pool will support 4-6 research projects that address a common theme and/or one or more “grouped” applications that link 2-3 individual projects across different research sites. The deadline for submission of statements is March 17, 2014.
Proposals are invited for the evaluation of the Accountability in Tanzania (AcT) programme.
AcT is a 6 year, £31m largely DFID funded governance and accountability programme, which also includes a £4.5m component on climate change and environment, which is partially funded by DANIDA. Deadline for applications: 8 March

The UN Women Evaluation Office seeks for a firm/institution specialized in evaluation to assist in the design and conduct of a corporate thematic evaluation on the contribution of UN Women to Women’s Economic Empowerment. The interested firms should submit their proposals according to the guidelines outlined in the request for proposals by 28 February, 2014.
The Department of Performance Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME), Government of South Africa is collaborating with the Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Results for Anglophone Africa (CLEAR-AA) in commissioning and supporting research on the rollout of a range of DPME systems.
The research grant is targeted towards South African doctoral and post-doctoral candidates within any South African University or Research Council. DPME through CLEAR-AA will fund six projects on DPME systems in 2014. Deadline for applications: 24 February
The East Africa Social Science Translation (EASST) Collaborative invites African researchers to apply for a 4-month fellowship (sabbatical) at the University of California Berkeley, to be completed during the 2014-15 academic year. Application deadline: 26 March 2014.
3ie is providing three full scholarship for the University of East Anglia (UEA) short course on Beyond Surveys and Experiments: Other Approaches to Impact Evaluation and a full scholarship for the course on Impact Evaluation for Evidence-Based Policy in Development .
