3ie and the Department of Public Policy and Administration of the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo (AUC) will be hosting a three-day workshop on systematic reviews.
The workshop will be held at AUC, Cairo on 19-21 February 2015.

About the workshop
Systematic reviews are studies which identify, screen and synthesise evidence related to social and economic policy questions of interest to policymakers and practitioners.
The workshop in Cairo is aimed at researchers in universities, think tanks and government departments. Participants will be taken through the steps for undertaking a systematic review and to facilitate this process they will also take part in group exercises. Applicants interested in registering for the workshop should have prior knowledge of statistical methods used in social sciences and should be familiar with different regression models such as ordinary least squares, probit and logit.
The workshop will be conducted by Howard White, executive director, 3ie, and co-chair of the Campbell Collaboration and Hugh Waddington, senior evaluation specialist, 3ie and co-chair of Campbell’s International Development Coordinating Group.
Two lectures entitled What are systematic reviews, and why do we need them? and Theory-Based Systematic Reviews will be held on 19 February for those who are unable to attend the workshop. These lectures are open to all.
