Stuti Tripathi

Evaluation Specialist

Stuti has over 15 years’ experience in international development and has worked with implementing and research organisations around issues of microfinance and livelihoods. Stuti currently leads 3ie’s engagement with the Government of Philippines to create demand for evidence based policy making and generate high quality evidence. Aside from quality assuring 3ie funded research across a variety of sectors, and promote use of mixed methods to enhance the policy relevance of the evaluations, Stuti has also been involved in building capacity of governments and researchers in low and middle-income countries to commission and use evaluations. She has led in-house research to assess the impact of linking women’s producer groups to markets by strengthening their participation in crop value chains, and synthesised and mapped implementation research to assess gaps in delivery of health programmes. Prior to her current role, she anchored 3ie’s work on evidence uptake and use, including developing tools for research partners to guide their work on stakeholder engagement and ensuring policy relevance of the study, and developing monitoring mechanisms to capture instances of evidence uptake in 3ie studies.

Prior to 3ie, Stuti worked at International Finance Corporation (IFC) to promote practices in responsible financing in the Indian microfinance sector. At the Centre for Microfinance- IFMR Research, she led a randomised controlled trial to assess the impact of video-based financial literacy training to urban poor. Her foray into the development sector happened with SRIJAN, a grassroots implementing agency committed to promoting income generation activities in remote areas of rural India.

Stuti holds a Masters in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics and a Bachelors (Hons) from Lady Shriram College, University of Delhi.
