The EES 2022 Conference aims to provide an opportunity for evaluators, commissioners and users to come together to design the contours of necessary paradigmatic shifts and identify concrete actions.

CGIAR GENDER platform, through its Evidence module, organized a panel discussion to identify research for development (R4D) priorities on promoting inclusive and resilient livelihoods in the context of climate change and agri-food systems transformation in the Global South for One CGIAR and its partners. 3ie's Bidisha Barooah, along with several leading experts, discussed the current status and knowledge gaps in promoting decent, resilient & gainful livelihoods for women and youth in rural agri-food systems.

The 2022 CEDIL conference will feature expert speakers from around the world. They will share experiences and lessons learned on generating and using evidence during a crisis. The conference will also be an opportunity to discuss innovative approaches, methods, and themes that have gained importance during the pandemic – including evaluating complex development interventions, using big data and machine learning, and developing rigorous approaches for transferring evidence and applying learning across contexts.

The Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS) Annual Meeting brought together actors from academia, scholarly publishing, and policy to share novel research and discuss efforts to improve the credibility of social science by advancing research transparency, reproducibility, rigor, and ethics. This year’s keynote address on 10 February was given by 2021 Nobel Laureate David Card (UC Berkeley), who discussed the credibility (r)evolution in empirical research.

The Digital Development Dialogue (3D) seminar is a monthly online forum for policy and research exchange. In the seminar on 18 November, 3ie's Etienne Lwamba, in discussion with Angela Heucher from DEval, presented insights from our recently-launched systematic review ‘Strengthening women’s empowerment and gender equality in fragile contexts’.
