A roadmap for more TRIPS on the evidence journey

In October 2023, 3ie created the Global Evidence Commitment, a statement signed by seven leading international development institutions to date to improve their organizational use of rigorous evidence in decision-making. Today, we offer thoughts on the levers these and likeminded organizations can use to improve their culture of evidence use. We call this the TRIPS Framework.

On behalf of the FCDO Research Commissioning Centre, 3ie invites proposals from organisations or consortia to conduct a systematic review of the shadow economy in the Baltics. The aim of this research is to identify evidence-informed policy options to tackle the shadow economy across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Cyprus, Georgia, and Moldova.

Maren Duvendack is a 3ie senior research fellow with 15 years of expertise in development economics. Her work focuses on applied micro-econometrics, impact evaluation, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, microfinance as well as replication and reproduction of quantitative analyses. Saranya provides research support in the production of systematic reviews, evidence gap maps and other synthesis products as part of the Synthesis and Reviews Office, UK.Prior to joining 3ie as a staff member, Saranya worked as a Consultant with the Campbell Collaboration involved in extracting effect sizes included in the evidence gap map to reduce involvement of children and young people in crime and violence. Ramshi is a development professional with experience in qualitative research.
