On the occasion of 3ie’s 15th anniversary, evidence leaders, operational experts, decision-makers and researchers come together to reflect on and share ways to address institutional and structural barriers to evidence use.

The effects of climate change, human-made disasters, and other recurring crises are contributing to multifaceted and complex emergencies globally. In this context, it is important to have an evidence-based and multidimensional understanding of how these challenges intersect with other factors and how they may cause or exacerbate them.

The Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS) is organizing the Spring 2023 Open Research Seminar (ORS), a webinar series to promote and share knowledge about the use of tools and practices for transparency and reproducibility in social science research. The ORS will be an opportunity for researchers to showcase applications of specific tools and practices or evaluations of the effectiveness of existing tools and practices.

Humanitarian settings have long been seen as a challenging context for implementing rigorous impact evaluations. The Humanitarian Assistance Evidence Cycle (HAEC) Associate Award addresses this challenge by working to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency food security activities by increasing the demand for impact evaluations and the supply of researchers.

The Campbell Collaboration and Campbell UK & Ireland co hosted What Works Global Summit (WWGS). The conference had plenary sessions, presentations and discussions about the latest research evidence on social science topics, from crime and justice to social welfare, education to international development, and more.
