For evidence-informed decision-making
Engage with evidence. Understand what works. Inform policy and practice.
Despite growing interest in evidence-informed decision-making, practitioners and policymakers face persistent challenges: research is scattered across multiple sources, assessing evidence quality and relevance is difficult, and findings are often inaccessible or presented in ways that limit practical use. Many users also lack the time or capacity to systematically search for and interpret evidence.
3ie’s Development Evidence Portal (DEP) addresses these challenges by gathering high-quality, policy-relevant evidence on what works in international development into a single, searchable platform. With over 20,000 impact evaluations and systematic reviews, the DEP’s advanced filters, structured metadata, and user-friendly summaries enable faster, more effective evidence discovery and application.
This workshop (facilitated in English) introduces participants to the DEP as a practical example of how digital tools can bridge the gap between evidence production and use. Participants will learn to search, filter, and interpret evidence through hands-on exercises, building skills directly applicable to their research and policy contexts. The session will also highlight future enhancements, including AI-driven features.
