The Conference on New Ways of Governing, hosted by UNDP in Oslo on 28–29 October 2025, will explore how governance can evolve amid today’s deepening polycrisis marked by shrinking development finance, polarized conflicts, shifting power dynamics, and rapid digital transformation.
Bringing together around 100 global leaders, policymakers, and innovators, the two-day hybrid event will help shape UNDP’s Strategic Plan (2026–2029) and renew its commitment to inclusive, accountable, and effective governance.
Conference discussions will focus on four themes:
- Digital Governance: Ensuring AI and digitalization strengthen democracy.
 - Data & Policy: Reimagining evidence and expertise in policymaking.
 - Democratic Innovation: Revitalizing participation and accountability.
 - Public Finance: Mobilizing and managing resources for equitable progress.

By rethinking governance through innovation and inclusion, the conference aims to chart bold, actionable pathways towards more accountable, resilient, and future-ready systems of governance.
