The authors of this brief systematically identified, mapped, and described the evidence base of interventions that promote political competition through elections. The evidence gap map contains two systematic reviews and 195 impact evaluations. The characteristics of the evidence are described and mapped according to a framework of 28 interventions and 27 outcomes. This map was commissioned by USAID’s Center for Democracy, Human Rights and Governance.
